Acton Homeless Concern
Volunteer Chiswick: Acton Homeless Concern
Acton Homeless Concern is a wonderful charity, providing food, company, medical and dental treatment, counselling and other services for those who are homeless or living in poverty. The charity’s mission is to provide a warm, safe and friendly environment for people who are vulnerable. They offer both practical and emotional help.
They provide warm meals, clothing, showers, an optician, chiropodist, doctor and dentist, an alcohol/drugs counsellor, AA meetings and help with rehousing. What they are not able to offer is overnight shelter, but they work with other charities who do.
Acton Homeless Concern welcomes enthusiastic volunteers willing to give up their time for such a worthy cause. There are many ways that you can volunteer for Acton Homeless Concern, to find out more please contact Ian Breen, centre manager for Action Homeless Concern. They are also very much in need of donations – especially gifts of warm clothing, socks and winter coats, and of food.
