The Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a fatal fail to stop collision in west London.

Police were called to Wood Lane near to the junction with the Westway (A40) at 09.56 on Tuesday 19 October following reports of a person on the carriageway.

Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics and found a woman, believed to be aged 23, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

Initial enquiries suggested that her injuries were caused as a result of a road traffic collision. Officers later traced a lorry believed to have been involved in the incident. The driver of the vehicle is assisting police with their enquiries and has not been arrested.

Road closures were in place while emergency services handled the incident. Drivers who were in the area at the time are encouraged to check any dash-cam footage they may have.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should call 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting reference 2081/19OCT.
