Chiswick’s annual Community and Arts festival

Opening with the preview party for the Summer Exhibition art and Photography competition

Bedford Park Festival opens with a preview of the Art and Photography exhibitions in St Michael & All Angels Church on Bath Rd on Friday 7 June from 6.45 – 9.30pm. Music and wine is promised, and there is no charge for admission.

Both exhibitions are in the main church this year, whereas previous years the Photography exhibition has been upstairs in the Parish Hall. The Photography exhibition entries are also available to see online here on The Chiswick Calendar website.

Thank you all of you who have entered photographs. The public can vote on which photograph they think should be the winner in each category. The links for voting will be open when we publish the photographs, and voting will close on Thursday 13 June at 4pm.  (No voting on site at the exhibition this year, as the photographs will be on display all week).

The prizes for the winners will be announced in the church on the afternoon of Friday 14 June at 2pm.

Our co-sponsors Snappy Snaps have donated a £50 voucher for printing and custom framing for each of the category winners and a £250 voucher for the overall winner. Thanks also to Chiswick Auctions for sponsoring the Photographyt exhibition and competition.

Green Days

The opening of the Art and Photography exhibitions signal the start of the massive two-day fete known as ‘Green Days’  on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June – a feature of the Chiswick summer for decades on Acton Green Common opposite Turnham Green tube station, with its bandstand showcasing local talent in live music and dance performances, the obligatory beer tent and cake stall featuring a variety of home made cakes by local expert bakers …

A barbecue, a craft village, stalls from local businesses and community organisations, including ourselves, football games, fancy dress and a funfair. Come and see us at our stall on the South Parade side of the park, just behind the bandstand, and enter our raffle for some fabulous prizes from our Club Card members businesses.
