Bedford Park Festival Photography Competition How to Enter & Rules 2022

Images above: 2021 winner, Kearsney Abbey by Ljubima Woods

The Bedford Park Festival photography competition and exhibition will take place both online and as a physical exhibition in the St Michael & All Angels parish hall this year. You will be able to see all the photographs on The Chiswick Calendar website from 6:45pm Friday 10th June , when they will also go on show in St Michael & All Angels parish hall.

The public chooses a winner in each category and then a professional photographer will choose an overall winner. Vote for your favourite in each category either online, on The Chiswick Calendar website, or in person at the exhibition at St Michael & All Angels parish hall.

To enter the competition, please submit this form and upload your photographs, as directed. The name and photograph associated with your Google account will be recorded when you do this. Please submit a photograph or photographs you’re proud of, telling us which categories you would like them to be entered in.

Entries cost £4 for one photograph, £8 for two, £10 for three and £2 for each additional entry beyond that. Snappy Snaps Chiswick will print out photos for the competition at half their usual price and offer mounting at a 25% discount.

Your photographs will be reproduced on The Chiswick Calendar with a line of text saying that the photographer owns the copyright, but in any case they will be reproduced at too low a resolution for them to be downloaded and printed with any degree of quality. By entering the competition you are agreeing for your photographs to be shown on the website.

The photography competition is a brilliant community event, open to everyone, of all ages, but most importantly it raises money for St Michael & All Angels and its chosen charities, needed more than ever this year by those the money helps.

All the photographs will remain on the website for all to see, beyond the date of the exhibition in the parish hall, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June.

Photograph sizes – online

At least 250kb for use online. We are happy to resize larger images to make them suitable for the website.

Photograph delivery for the physical exhibition

Please print out your photographs, mount them on cardboard and deliver them to John Little. The cardboard should not be overly thick in order to avoid the picture being too heavy to display. We also do not accept framed photos or any on heavy mounts as they would not stick to the display boards.

Physical copies are to be handed to John Little between 24th May – 1st June between 10am and 4pm. We’ll send you the delivery address and more details when you submit your form, if you have not received where to deliver your photographs please contact james@chiswickcalendar.co.uk. We also require you to add your name, contact number and the category of the photo on the back of the cardboard on which your photos will be mounted.

The size of the physical picture is usually around A4 or slightly larger and the purpose of the card is to allow a solid surface to allow us to mount your work to a wall with Blu Tack. Click here for an example.
