Body found in Grand Union Canal during search for missing person

Police await formal identification

Police have discovered a body in the Grand Union Canal during a missing person search in west London.

A police underwater unit and forensic officers arrived at the canal in Park Royal, Ealing, shortly after 11am on Wednesday, (15 January), and recovered the body at about 2pm.

The Metropolitan Police is investigating the circumstances of the death and has informed next of kin. They are awaiting formal identification.
