Body recovered from Grand Union Canal in Brentford

Deceased man thought to be in his 60s

The body of a man, thought to be in his 60s, has been recovered from the Grand Union Canal in Brentford, the Metropolitan Police have said.

Police were called to the scene just before midday on Tuesday (4 October) to reports of a person in the canal.

Emergency services attended and recovered the man’s body from the water. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say that his death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to contact his next of kin.
