Fight starts after male passenger steps in to protect woman passenger being abused

British Transport Police is asking for the public’s help to identify this man, who they are looking for in connection with an assault on board a Piccadilly Line Tube just after midnight on Thursday night (26 February).

The assault took place on a service between Acton Town and Osterley. A man was acting aggressively and made homophobic and racist remarks towards a young woman on the train.

A man who was also travelling on the train then stepped in to help her, and a fight broke out between the two.

The man the police are looking for then disembarked at Osterley Underground station.

Anyone who recognises the man pictured or witnessed the incident is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference number 10 of 26 February.

Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
