Care worker celebrates 50 years of service at St Mary’s Convent and Nursing Home in Chiswick

A unique anniversary at St Mary’s

A care worker at St Mary’s Convent and Nursing Home has just celebrated her 50th anniversary of working there. Rosemary Manipon’s special anniversary on Tuesday 14 April was marked with a party at the nursing home for staff past and present and Rosemary’s family.

“This is a unique anniversary amongst our carers” said Jane Trigle, St Mary’s administrator.

Rosemary is married to Crisanto, who is Head Chef at the Home, and other members of her extended family have also worked at St Mary’s over the years. She was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a gift.

“St Mary’s prides itself on its family feel, we have many staff who work here with their wives/husbands/children/cousins, and carers and staff stay with us for many years”, said Jane.

There are a number of staff who will be celebrating the 20 year, 30 year and 40 year anniversaries in the coming months.

St Mary’s was recently inspected by the Care Quality Commission, and received a Good rating, with an Outstanding in the Responsive category – the only older peoples care home in Hounslow to get an ‘outstanding’ in any category.

By ‘Responsive’ they mean how person-centred the care is, how it is integrated and continued, how they provide information, how they listen and involve people and how they make sure there is equity in experience and outcomes, as well as how they support people to plan for important life changes.
