Celia Martine Pickering takes part in The Chiswick Calendar autumn 2024 art exhibition at Clayton hotel Chiswick

Celia Martine Pickering

Celia is an artist, self-taught, and an independent art teacher, who lives in Chiswick.

“My love for art has been with me for as long as I can remember, but it was in 2020 when I began my professional artistic journey. My paintings are inspired by Mid Century style and the natural world, with each piece reflecting my deep appreciation for beauty and my unique perspective on life.”

Her bright, bold pictures are currently also on show at the Mall Gallery in London.

Her house in Grove Park is immediately recognisable by the brightly painted bid sheds outside. Her triptych in our exhibition at the Clayton hotel is a copy, which explains the title: Behind the bin sheds.

Our 13th art & photography exhibition

This is The Chiswick Calendar’s 13th exhibition of art and photography at the hotel. Our first was in September 2017. Initially ‘Chiswick in Pictures’, the theme has broadened to include any subject by an artist who lives locally – abstract paintings and figurative work, landscapes and portraits, in oils, watercolours, photography and stained glass.

The exhibition is open from Monday 30 September until Saturday 30 November 2024, and as the hotel is open all the time, you can pop in at any time to view the work, in the atrium by reception at 626 Chiswick High Rd., W4 5RY.
