Chiswick based Police officer appears in court charged with rape and sexual assault

PC Mahad Abdalla remanded on bail as case goes to Crown Court

A serving Metropolitan Police officer who lives in Chiswick appeared in court on Friday charged with rape and sexual assault.

PC Mahad Abdalla, 28, appeared at Willesden Magistrates Court on Friday 20 February accused of strangling a woman and of engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour. He did not enter a plea, guilty or not guilty, to any of the charges.

Abdullah was arrested on 14 May 2024 and bailed pending further enquiries. He has been suspended from duty since then and was charged last month.

Willesden Magistrates remanded him on bail to appear for Crown Court trial in a month’s time, on condition he did not contact the complainant directly or indirectly.

Abdalla is not part of the Neighbourhood Policing Team in Chsiwick, but in 2019 he took part in the BBC documentary The Met: Policing London, going about his duties as a response officer in Ealing.
