The Chiswick Book Festival brings together top authors and their readers for a long weekend of history, biography, fiction, crime, thrillers, politics, the arts, fashion, children’s books and other genres. The festival will be entirely online in 2020.
Now in its 12th year, it is a non-profit-making community event: any financial surplus is donated to St Michael & All Angels Church, which runs and hosts the event, and the Festival’s three charities:
– InterAct Stroke Support, which employs actors to provide a reading service for stroke patients at Charing Cross Hospital.
– Doorstep Library, which brings the magic of books into children’s homes in deprived parts of west London.
– The Felix Project, which collects surplus food from suppliers and redistributes it to charities and schools in London, to help reduce waste and relieve food poverty.
