Chiswick Camera Centre hit by ram raiders

Chiswick Camera Centre has been hit by ram raiders.

The camera shop, which is in the row of shops beside the Old Pack Horse pub, at 4 Chiswick Terrace, Acton Lane, was hit at 2.00 am on Friday 9 April. Owner Andy Sands told The Chiswick Calendar a lot of stock had been stolen and a lot of damage done.

Andy lost £40,000 worth of equipment in a break-in in November 2020 and he reckons he’s had even more stolen this time. He has been selling online while hte shop has been closed during lockdown and has been at the shop only one day a week to give click and collect customers their purchases. Over the past year he reckons his takings are already at least 50 – 60% down on the previous year.

“Just what we needed…..” he told us. He and his staff have been preparing to reopen the shop on Tuesday 13 April as Covid restricitons lift (they are closed on Mondays).

“I am still planning to reopen on Tuesday but will probably need to trade from the back door until Wednesday when everything has been sorted out”.

The back door is accessible from the car park at the back of the shops, opposite Sainsbury’s car park.
