Chiswick Cinema reopens kitchen to serve Asian fusion food from Little Bao Boy

Bao Buns with your blockbuster and Asian fusion with your art film

Chiswick cinema goers can now enjoy top quality Asian fusion food while watching the latest films.

Little Bao Boy has started providing Asian fusion food at Chiswick Cinema. The Leeds born company was featured in the BBC’s MasterChef: The Professionals in March 2026. Set up by James Ooi ten years ago, Little Bao Boy started out in a home kitchen and quickly grew into a recognised name on the UK street food scene, serving up ‘bold, homemade bao buns and Asian inspired dishes with a modern twist’.

Before opening at the cinema, they had a stall at the Food St market in Old Market Place on Chiswick High Road (fourth Sunday of the month) and were introduced to Chiswick Cinema by market organiser Richard Johnson.

A game changer

Being able to bring a bao bun feast into the film with you is truly a game changer. Chiswick Cinema has put QR codes in the screen rooms so film goers can order from Little Bao Boy’s extensive menu from the comfort of your cinema seat.

If you would prefer to eat before your film, the food can also be ordered from the lounge or the box office in the lobby at Chiswick Cinema.

The food comes in compact boxes which makes it very easy to transport throughout the cinema. It doesn’t hurt that the boxes have a rather ‘Instagrammable’ look to them. Having sampled them, I can say they are a delicious addition to what Chiswick Cinema has to offer.

I couldn’t recommend the ‘any two bao and fries’ meal enough. Before I tried Little Bao Boy, I hadn’t thought of chips and bao buns as a combo, but it most definitely works.

A shout out for the Chilli oil mayo

My friend and I decided to get completely different combinations so we could try as many as possible. If I was asked the near impossible question of choosing a favourite, I think I would have to go with the Char Siu Pulled Pork bao.

If you are looking for something completely different, both the Katsu and Panko Halloumi bao buns are great. A shout out for the Chilli oil mayo is very necessary.

Don’t let the name deceive – the Little Bao Boy menu isn’t limited to just bao buns. You can also choose from a selection of rice bowls and sides. The duck gyozas we tried were particularly excellent.

And why just leave it there? The sweet fried bao tops it all off. The deep fried bao bun is covered with cinnamon and comes with berry compote and cream dips. Having enjoyed one of these while watching The Odyssey, it might just be all the company you need while watching nail biting battle scenes and mythical beasts.

On Wednesday and Thursday the kitchen is open from 5 .00 pm to 9.00 pm. Friday to Sunday, food can be ordered from 12.00 pm to 9.00 pm.
