Chiswick Covid rate drops to nearly a third of New Year peak

Government figures show that new infections in Chiswick have dropped to pre-Christmas rates. In the seven days up to 27 January 2021 there were 119 new infections recorded in Chiswick, 70 fewer than the previous week. The infection was at a peak at New Year, when new infections in the seven days up to 30 December stood at 330. Since then the number of new infections has steadily dropped week on week.

We are now blue instead of purple on the map, which is still pretty high (between 200 and 399 people per 100,000 population) but we are better than we were.

Chiswick is divided into six areas for the purposes of measuring infection. In the seven days up to 27 January there were no increases in any part of Chiswick.
