Chiswick property demand climbs to third highest in London, index shows
Buyer demand for homes in Chiswick priced between £2m and £10m rose to 37.8% in the second quarter of 2026, according to the latest Prime London Demand Index from estate agent Benham and Reeves, making it the third strongest area in the survey behind Clapham and Wandsworth
The index tracks the proportion of homes listed for sale across London’s prime market that have already sold subject to contract, using data sourced from Rightmove.
Clapham recorded the highest demand of any area, with 47.6% of its £2m to £10m listings under offer, followed by Wandsworth on 43.3%. Chiswick’s 37.8% put it ahead of Putney (32.5%) and Islington (32.4%).
Chiswick also saw one of the stronger quarterly gains, with demand up 6.3 percentage points on the first quarter of the year. Across London as a whole, demand in the £2m to £10m bracket reached 14.5%, up 1.0 point on the quarter and 2.2 points higher than a year earlier.
Marc von Grundherr, director at Benham and Reeves, said the figures reflected continued strength in London’s family-focused markets. ‘Areas such as Clapham, Wandsworth, Chiswick, and Barnes are proving especially popular with buyers who remain committed to securing quality homes in desirable locations, despite wider market uncertainty,’ he said.
