Chiswick Riverside elects one Conservative, one Labour and one Green councillor

Conservative Group Leader Peter Thompson loses his seat

Chiswick Riverside ward has elected one Conservative, one Labour and one Green councillor. Cllr Amy Croft (Labour) and Cllr Gabriella Giles (Conservative) have been re-elected and Rick Rowe (Green) has been elected for the first time.

Former Chiswick Riverside councillor Peter Thompson, who was the Leader of the Conservative group on the Council, has lost his seat.

Amy came top in the poll with 1,387; Gabriella came second with 1,202 votes; Rick came third with 1,184. Peter Thompson narrowly missed being re-elected, with 1,146 votes.

“I am humbled that the residents of Chiswick have voted for me like this. I am overwhelmed by the support the residents have shown me and absolutely thrilled to be representing this wonderful ward for another four years”, Amy told The Chiswick Calendar.

Rick Rowe, told us:

“It’s been a really long campaign for everyone. Our focus has been on hope and change, for something new. I was concerned we were going to lose the seat. Amy’s record, she does an awful lot of casework. She’s a hardworking councillor, she’s a good councillor.”

Rowe went on to say he hoped there would be a productive and collaborative approach to the new council considering the mix of different parties now in play.

“We have a Conservative, we have Labour and we have Green. We all have a common, shared love of Chiswick Riverside and want it to thrive.”
