Chiswick RNLI raises £2000 at first Brentford FC fundraiser since pandemic

Chiswick RNLI raised nearly £2000 in donations at Brentford FC during their first fundraiser at the stadium since the start of the pandemic, in February.

In the 90 minutes before kick off, Chiswick RNLI crew and fundraisers received £1,955 in buckets and on card readers. Three quarters of the proceeds were donated in cash.

Volunteers ‘delighted’ to be working with Brentford FC again

Mark Pusey from Chiswick RNLI said:

“Chiswick RNLI is delighted to be working with our local football club, Brentford FC. The stunning new stadium is on our doorstep, even closer to our area of operations on the Thames. We are looking forward to engaging with the Brentford fans and friends, offering water safety advice, spreading the word about what we do on the river, and doing some essential fundraising at the ground. Up the Bees!”

After the match, Chiswick RNLI fundraiser, Jane Foster Smith said:

“All the collectors had a great time and exchanged lots of cheerful banter with the fans. We enjoyed being right next to the action on the pitch during the match and along with 17,000 fans seeing RNLI images and water safety messages on the big screen at half time.”
