England stand just two victories away from winning the European Championship on home soil, after beating Ukraine 4-0 in Rome at the weekend. On Wednesday 7 July at 8.00pm, England face off against Denmark in the hotly anticipated semi-final match.
Tickets for Wembley are highly prized items, even more so than they would usually be, as Covid restrictions are still in place nationwide. Even if you’re successful in securing tickets, you need to be either fully vaccinated or produce proof of a negative lateral flow test at the gates.
The rules for watching the game in a pub are still governed by social distancing between groups and the limit on the total number of customers the pub can accommodate. Groups of up to six people can be seated together, or groups of any size from two households, but you must be seated.
As a result, time slots in Chiswick’s pubs are scarce too. Many are already fully booked for the match.
Matt Smith has been checking availability in Chiswick’s pubs for Wednesday night. See below to find out whether or not your local is fully booked.

The George IV – fully booked
The George IV is fully booked. Trying to reserve a table for one person through their online booking system is met with the message:
‘Many thanks for your enquiry about joining us here for the Euros. Unfortunately we are fully booked for the England game now. If you’d like to be placed on the waitlist please email the pub directly on email@example.com with your booking details & a contact number.’

The Crown – limited availability
The Crown has limited tables available before kick off time. Their online booking system won’t let you reserve tables for more than two people, but when I called up on Monday afternoon management said they could fit a table of three in at around 7.30pm.
You can make reservations for two people on their website or call up to enquire about larger bookings on 020 3330 7131.

The Lamb – fully booked
The Lamb is fully booked at 104 covers. Match bookings required a £20 deposit to secure them, so it’s unlikely there will be many cancellations.
Asked on what the atmosphere would be like on Wednesday, the manager, Jardine, said: “If it’s anything like Saturday, it was really good! Everyone was really well behaved and it was buzzing. When England scored that third goal and were definitely going through I thought the roof was going to come off!”
Jardine said she was looking forward to Wednesday, adding: “I used to run a sports pub so I miss that vibe. I’m getting older now, so I don’t miss running a sport pub, but it’s nice to have for a little while. We’re almost fully booked for the final as well.”

The Roebuck – limited availability
The Roebuck have a roll-down projector screen so punters can watch the football in their courtyard garden. According their online booking system, there’s no spaces left in the courtyard around the time of the match.
Management say they ‘always try to keep a few tables available inside, along their front terrance and in the courtyard garden’ should punters pop in without booking a table.
You can check time slots at The Roebuck on their website or call them on 020 3978 2162.

The Crown & Anchor – fully booked
The Crown & Anchor is fully booked, with a long waiting list to be contacted before any new booking enquiries are considered.
The assistant manager said: “I’m just calling to get the last deposits and on our enquiries list, which is for if you haven’t got a table and would like one incase people don’t pay their deposit, I’ve got about 30 tables waiting in the wings, as it were!”

One Over The Ait – limited availability
One Over The Ait, by Kew Bridge, said they is busy rearranging the pub making sure they have plenty of space for everyone on Wednesday. One of their managers said they have “a couple of tables” left but still need to go over their enquiries list before finalising their availability.
Their booking system isn’t allowing for any new reservations on Wednesday at match time. The best bet is to call them up on 0203 581 5700 and/or send an enquiry to firstname.lastname@example.org.

The Pilot – limited availability
The Pilot has a few tables left in their function room according to the manager, Russell.
He said: “I only have a small function room so once we’re full we’re full. It’s about 30 covers and I’ve only got a few spaces left.”
You can check availability on The Pilot’s website or call them on 0208 994 0828.
