pladis adds another floor of Building 3 to its offices at Chiswick Park

The snack foods company which owns McVities, Jacob’s and Godiva is increasing its presence at Chiswick Business Park.

pladis, which already has a base in Building 3, has agreed to lease c. 4,700 sq ft of additional office space on the ground floor of the same building, according to reports in the commercial property press. The lease will run for around four and a half years.

Geraldine Fraser, chief human resources officer at pladis, said:

“Chiswick Park is an important base for our UK and global teams, and this additional space will help us create a more flexible and collaborative working environment for colleagues. As we continue to evolve, we want our workspace to support how people work today – bringing teams together, enabling connection and helping colleagues do their best work.”

pladis has a portfolio of what are now called ‘heritage’ snack brands which includes BN – ‘Biscuiterie Nantaise’ from France, Flipz, Go Ahead, Haansbro, Sultana, Turtles from the United States, Ülker from Turkey, and Verkade from the Netherlands, as well as McVities, which makes Digestives, Hobnobs, Jaffa Cakes and Rich Tea, Jacob’s – Cream Crackers – and Belgian chocolatier Godiva.

Many of these companies’ histories date back to the 19th century and through pladis’ global reach are now sold in more than 110 countries.

Chiswick Park has 1.8 million sq ft of business accommodation, in 12 office buildings set in landscaped gardens arranged around the central lake. Currently about 15% space is free, with whole floors empty in half the buildings.

It has won awards for its architecture and landscaping, and has been ranked in the FT’s Top 50 Great Places to Work.
