Dukes Meadows park nominated for award

Dukes Meadows has been nominated for a Best Park award in the Fields in Trust UKs best park awards. More than 300 odd parks are nominated, and the winner is decided by public vote.

Dukes Meadows Trust has just spent £12,000 on the playground to add new play equipment for younger children – a wooden horse, some baby swings and a horse and carriage, paid for from the profits of the Sunday Food Market.

The playground was originally built from a design by children at the local Cavendish primary school and is a brilliant example of how a social enterprise can deliver great amenities to its local community.
