Askew Road Arts Festival 2026

17 - 25 September 2026

This year, Askew Road Arts Festival is built around the theme, “If children are our future…”.

The Askew Road Arts Festival brings together artists and children to explore the idea that the future will one day be shaped by those who are growing up now. Through artworks, collaborations, and interventions across galleries, streets, and community spaces, the festival asks how children experience the present, what values we pass on to them, and how their voices might help us reimagine what comes next. Rooted in the local area but outward-looking in its concerns, the festival treats children not as symbols of the future, but as active participants in shaping it.

There will be many events happening between 17 – 25 September.

Two launch events:

Thursday 17 September – Creative Changemakers at Sulgrave Youth Club, Goldhawk Road 6.30pm – 8pm

Friday 18 September – Reflections on Askew Road at Askew Gallery, 159 Askew Road – A river runs beneath Askew Road – paintings by Mary West and Beryl Robinson; Starch Green Memory Boxes – assemblages by local women artists inspired by the tokens at the Foundling Museum – with its Hogarth connection; book launch for Echoes of Childhood, by emerging writers in our area – edited by the WILDE Foundation
