Sara Ward trained as a Bread Angel with Jane Mason of Virtuous Bread back in 2015 and, in 2017, completed a Five Day Intensive Bread course and further Croissant & Viennoiserie training with Richard Bertinet at his Cookery School in Bath.
The face to face training of this course is run over two days, either back to back or in consecutive weeks, 10am – 4pm each day, with homework in between.
You will be welcomed to Hen Corner with fresh coffee and home made treats. Then, after an introduction to your time together, you will have opportunity to stroll around the garden visiting the chickens and bees, then off to the conservatory and kitchen to knead that dough…
The course is run from their family home and kitchen, where they run their business and bakery, demonstrating how to bake and teach using normal domestic equipment.
This is a hands on course that concentrates on traditional methods of baking. You will be making around 5 different products each day of the course using different skills and ingredients to enable you to grow in confidence with your baking. Within the course you will also be discussing all aspects of starting your own small business – sourcing ingredients and equipment, marketing, legal requirements and administration.
The course fee includes Four Online Bread Classes, Two Days in Person Classes, personal and group mentoring from Sara, support from the wider network of Bread Angels.
Everyone goes home with their hand made bakes, banneton, dough scraper, recipe sheets and the confidence to make more bread at home.
