The Chiswick Book Festival brings together top authors and their readers for a week of history, poetry, biography, creative writing, fiction, thrillers, gardens, food, wine, politics and children’s books. It started in 2009 with speakers including Lady Antonia Fraser, Anthony Horowitz, Jacqueline Wilson, Lynn Barber and Michael Frayn and has kept up the same high calibre of speakers ever since – Top 10 Things to Do In Chiswick.
Plans are well underway for this year’s Festival, which is intended to be held in person, subject to Government rules in September.
The Festival will open with a special evening at Chiswick House, exploring the life and work of Nancy Mitford and her sisters, following the BBC serialisation of The Pursuit of Love. Nancy lived at Rose Cottage. Strand on the Green in the 1930s.
The festival will also feature thel 2021 Young People’s Poetry Competition, now in its eleventh year. You can read all about it and download the entry forms and rules here. The closing date has been extended to Monday June 14th 2021.
