Leisurely ride of 40km/25 miles with lots of green spaces. Lunch stop at the Wimbledon Windmill
Meet outside Ealing Town Hall from 9.45 am for a 10.00 am departure.
A ride of 40km/25 miles with lots of green spaces, as the group cross Richmond Park twice. The lunch stop will be at the Wimbledon Windmill in the middle of Wimbledon Common.
There is a cafe and toilets at the Windmill, but the cafe can be very busy, so a picnic lunch is recommended.
There will be one significant hill to climb, from Richmond Bridge up Richmond Hill to the Park, and one steep descent on an unsealed path. Otherwise, the ride is gently undulating.
There are a number of unsealed sections with gravel, so this ride is not really suitable for bikes with narrow tyres.
They should return to Ealing by approx 3.30pm.
Although Covid restrictions are no longer in force, please continue to be mindful. Do not attend if you have any Covid-19 symptoms, have tested positive or are currently advised to self-isolate. You might want to bring hand sanitiser and a face covering for entry into enclosed public spaces.
