It is recognised that the pandemic has affected young people’s mental health in many ways – from loss of confidence, routines, friendships, to increased self-harm, addictions, anxiety and depression.
Two young people from Christ Church W4 want to do something about it and tell young people of West London that they matter and their mental health matters. They were inspired to put together this event for young people in the area – a safe space to think about their own mental health and be inspired + equipped to pursue good mental health practices, especially in the wake of the pandemic.
Joel Harris from Kinsugi Hope will be sharing on mental health myth busting and the impact of social media on identity and mental health, and a young adult with a powerful mental health testimony will be sharing some things she wished she’d known about mental health when she was a teen and some self-care top tips.
There will be small group discussions after each talk, for young people to share and ask questions. These will be facilitated by accredited counsellors and the You Matter team. They also have some great mental health goody bags to give away, and refreshments.
