Winners of the British Street Food Awards bring an explosion of international flavours to the first Chiswick street food market.
Taking place in Old Market Place, the car park outside the parade of shops beside George IV pub and the site of Chiswick’s first outdoor market, visitors can buy street food from a variety of stalls and then enjoy Chiswick’s independent shops, cafes and restaurants.
At the first market in October were British Street Food Awards finalists Amani Kitchen (the winner of the People’s Choice award) and some home based food establishments from Chiswick – Ma Ma Boutique Bakery and Mari Deli.
Traders at the first market also included Bombayish Indian spices, Hermanos Taco House, Ugly Dumpling and Potje Man, offering Cape Malay delights. Amani Kitchen wowed with traditional and plant-based Arabic cuisine, and The Whistling Oyster from Devonshire Rd brought seafood and fizz to the mix.
Food St Market has an initial licence to trade for three months with a small number of stalls and they are hoping after Christmas they will be allowed to continue and expand.
