Panorama of the Thames – National Archives

20 June @ 6:30 pm BST

Strand on the Green Association and Grove Park group host one of the final presentations of Panorama of the Thames by John R Inglis & Jill Sanders.

The Panorama of the Thames conservation project is creating a unique and enduring historical record of the banks of the river through London. It contains spectacular panoramic images and videos, accompanied by an extensive database to cover every feature along 52 miles of rapidly changing riverbank.

Funded mainly by individual contributions and community groups, the project shows the built and the natural environment along the river, as you would see it at its best. It includes a fully restored version of a rare publication which depicts the Thames riverside in 1829, at the end of the Georgian period. Further information can be found at panoramaofthethames.com

Don’t miss the brilliant film show at The National Archives, kew and hear about how the book was made.

The event is free for gpg and soga members and for non-members, £10, which includes a 1 year free membership. Drinks available from 6.30pm and after the presentation.
