This two day workshop is open to all adults – no experience required. Your tutor will be Helen Dejean.
This intensive weekend workshop will introduce you to each stage of this fascinating process, using traditional methods and materials to create your own version of an archetypal Byzantine or Russian icon.
By the end of the course, you will have a working knowledge of natural pigments, learnt how to use imitation gold leaf, attained foundational painting skills in egg tempera and understand the art historical significance of the image. Please bring an apron or shirt to cover-up with.
