The Royal Windsor steam express is due to pass through Chiswick rail station every Tuesday from 1 June until the end of August.
The Steam Dreams Rail Company run pleasure trips out of Victoria station. The first trip of the 2021 season was the Flying Scotsman taking a journey out to the Surrey hills and back, which came through Chiswick on Thursday 20 May.
“We have a fabulous season ahead of us with lots of varied itineraries” said owner of Steam Dreams Rail Co. David Buck, “including more Flying Scotsman trips and the long-awaited return of our very popular Royal Windsor Steam Express and Sunset Steam Express trains which will be running out of London Victoria every Tuesday from the 1st June – 14th September.’ In addition, we will also be running our regular tours to Cathedral Cities, beach side resorts and special events such as Goodwood Revival to name but a few!”
You can see the Royal Windsor at Chiswick rail station at around 1.45 and 6.45pm every Tuesday from 1 June until the end of August. But watch out for last minute changes. Chsiwick is not listed on Steam Dreams’ website, but the company says ‘the train will definitely run through Chiswick every Tuesday at 13.45’.
Watch out for lastminute changes
The later trip is sometimes re-routed.
‘In the evening at 18.45, it may run through Chiswick but may also take the route via Mortlake. Although those are the timings provided, because it isn’t a passenger stop the train may be re-routed at the last moment for operational reasons’.
