If your Sunday currently involves ‘a quick bite somewhere nearby’… scrap it. Because Food Street is back, and we’ve basically turned Chiswick into a full-blown street food festival with live music, award-winning ice cream, cocktails and more independent traders than your decision-making skills can comfortably handle.

While some of the Food Street team are up north running the Northern Heats of the British Street Food Awards, hunting for the next big thing ahead of the British Street Food Awards Final on 4–6 September at Peddler Market, Sheffield, the rest of us are bringing the heat back to Chiswick High Road. And with our new premises licence in hand, we’re thrilled to welcome back the brilliant Scott McMahon and his guitar, setting the tone for a very good Sunday indeed.

And then there’s the food. We’ve got 30+ independent traders, so the only real problem you’ll have is choosing where to start. The line-up includes Tippy Thai, Saj Station, ROK, Kebabest, Pharmers, Sultan Gozleme, Haki, Oliviers Bakery, Mexican Helado, Chillo Piro, Suyaboiz, Parma Medics, Papas Locas, Cut The Mustard, Doughbells, Ro Vietnamese, Santorini Grill, The Ugly Dumplings, Jinger, The Fine Jamaican Sauce, Oh Mixology, Miya’s Korean Kitchen, Stans, Well Grown, Papelón, Com Amor, Nopalito, Paella Garcia, L’Amuse Bouche, Biltong Boss, Healthy Cake Company and Bob’s Banana Bread.

And yes, the Mexican ice cream is back, and it’s not messing about. Flavours include Mexican cinnamon, Veracruz vanilla (from the birthplace of vanilla) and cajeta salted pecan, a homemade goat’s milk caramel. They’ve also just picked up four Great Taste Awards, so it’s worth seeking out.

Paella Garcia are also back, fresh from being called up as a Wild Card for the British Street Food Awards Final, so you can taste the future champions before they win anything. The Healthy Cake Company return with their legendary gluten-free bakes (and elite-level sampling strategy), while Bob’s Banana Bread are back too, helping Bob save up for his future Everest expedition.

There’ll be loads of covered seating, so you can eat, drink and listen to live music without worrying about the weather doing its usual British thing.

Final call: don’t overthink this. This is your Sunday sorted. Come hungry, bring your mates, arrive early, stay longer than planned, and leave wondering why all Sundays aren’t like this.
