Friends of Turnham Green

Volunteer Chiswick: Friends of Turnham Green

Since 2007, Friends of Turnham Green have been ‘rescuing Turnham Green from municipal shabbiness.’ Turnham Green is the heart of Chiswick, with its  Victorian church designed by George Gilbert Scott instantly recognisable as a Chiswick landmark, particularly lovely when it’s surrounded by blossom in the spring. Owing to the efforts of Friends of Turnham Green, the Green has received the Green Flag award from the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy several years running.

Turnham Green has many individual features which have been developed by the Friends of Turnham Green, including herb beds, (in collaboration with Abundance London), the planting around the war memorial and a wildflower meadow with a natural play area. There are a variety of roles for volunteers. Aspiring volunteers can sign up on the Friends of Turnham Green website, and will be very welcome.
