George IV reopens after refurbishment, Wednesday 6 November 2024

Party, party, party …

The George IV pub in Chiswick is having a grand reopening on Wednesday 6 November after being closed for a couple of weeks for refurbishment.

The reopening party will be followed by a full-on party weekend on 15 – 17 November. Here’s what they have planned:

Wednesday 6 November

The pub will be open from 12pm as usual for regular service. The evening kicks off at 5.30pm with welcome drinks on the house provided by Sipsmith, who will have their own bar set up, with pints of London Pride from Asahi and glasses of fizz provided by Balfour.

Two rounds of complimentary canapes will be served by George IV staff from 6pm. Diagio will also be present with a Margarita station from 6pm. Live music in the main bar area by Tom Lukas from 6-9pm. Tom runs the regular Wednesday night open mic nights with his company London Unplugged.

There is a special midweek Headliners comedy spacial starting at 8.00pm (doors open at 7.30pm) featuring Rich hall, Steve Best, Jack Hester, Abigoliah mc

Party weekend – Friday 15 – Sunday 17 November

Already Legends

Friday 15 November

The pub’s usual Hartbeeps kids classes – music classes for babies and toddlers – will be on in the Boston room from 9.30am – 12.30.

In the evening Siren will be in the pub doing a tasting from 6-8pm, and the George IV staff will be serving complimentary canapes from 6pm, with a brass band playing from 6pm – 8pm, and live music from 9pm till close in the main bar area with one of Chiswick’s favourite bands: Already Legends.

Headliners will be occupying its regular slot in the Boston Room with stand up comedy from 8.30pm featuring Hal Cruttenden, Jo Caulfield, Marcel Lucont and Radu Isac.

Saturday 16 November

George IV staff will again be serving complimentary canapes from 6pm. The live band “Roamin’ Emperors” are booked in for 6-8pm, followed by Yusuf playing live in the main bar area form 9pm till close.

Jubel will be present in the Garden hosting a ping pong tournament from 6-8pm

Headliners comedy – with the same line up as Friday night – will also be on from 8.30pm in the Boston Room.

Sunday 17 November – family focused day

The open air market outside the pub on Sunday 17 November will be the Chiswick Cheese Market. The pub will be open from 11am with Sunday Roasts served from 12pm.

Kids table as usual in the games room from 12-4pm. There will also be facepainting in the garden from 12-3pm.

Live blues/jazz music will be in the main bar area with Oriana Curls from 4pm -6.30pm

Jazz at George IV – part of the EFG London Jazz Festival

The Chiswick Calander and Live Music To Go will be hosting a special session of Jazz at Geroge IV for the EFG London Jazz festival starting at 7.30pm in the Boston Room with Caroline Cooper’s Pulse Quartet.
