Following a successful launch walk at Boston Manor on Bank Holiday Monday, we are pleased to announce that we are leading several walks in old Chiswick. We are doing two walks along Chiswick Mall on Sunday 21 July and Sunday 29 September; one in the Village on Sunday 18 August and finally a ‘Ghosts and Bodies’ walk on Sunday 27 October.

All will start at 2.30pm at St Nicholas Church, on the corner of the Mall and Church Street, and will end back at the same place after one and a half hours. No need to book, just turn up and pay the guide £3 cash. Teas will be available in the church after the walks.

The Village walks will include one of the oldest buildings in Hounslow, which is said to have been the place where a famous highwayman had his wedding breakfast.

The Mall walks will cover the beautiful riverside street and the lives of aristocrats and river workers.

The Ghosts and Bodies walk, as it takes place close to Halloween, will be an enjoyable yet scary tour of the many haunting and deaths which have been reported over the centuries in Chiswick.

In addition to these walks in Chiswick, we are doing Isleworth walks on Sunday 7 July, Sunday 4 August, Sunday 1 September and Sunday 6 October, and Brentford walks on Sunday 14 July, Sunday 11 August and Friday 13 September

For further details on start points, see our website: hounslow-heritage.org.uk

This will have details of our free walks arranged during Open House festival, Saturday 14 – Sunday 22 September, including Spring Grove, Brentford and Isleworth as well as Stamford Brook in Chiswick and Brook Green in Hammersmith.

We are looking forward to seeing you all in our 30th anniversary year.
