Number of new cases in Chiswick very slightly up

The number of new cases of Covid-19 in the seven days up to 29 December shown on the government website is only very slightly higher than it was the previous week. The number of new cases in the week ending 29 December is 303, compared with 294 in the previous seven days to 22 December.

This is a huge contrast from the leap in figures before Christmas. New cases in the seven days ending 15 December were 134, compared with 294 the week after.

The tiny increase in this week’s figures could indicate that the number of new cases in Chiswick has stabilised. It might also be that not as much data has been recorded over the Christmas period and the true picture will be reflected over the next few days.

Chiswick is divided into six areas on the gov.uk website:

Total cases in week ending 29 December – 69
Up 9 from the previous week ending 22 December
