Number of new cases in Chiswick very slightly up
The number of new cases of Covid-19 in the seven days up to 29 December shown on the government website is only very slightly higher than it was the previous week. The number of new cases in the week ending 29 December is 303, compared with 294 in the previous seven days to 22 December.
This is a huge contrast from the leap in figures before Christmas. New cases in the seven days ending 15 December were 134, compared with 294 the week after.
The tiny increase in this week’s figures could indicate that the number of new cases in Chiswick has stabilised. It might also be that not as much data has been recorded over the Christmas period and the true picture will be reflected over the next few days.

Three deaths from Covid-19 in November
There were three deaths in Chiswick from Covid-19 in Chiswick in November 2020, according to the latest data published by the Office of National Statistics.
There had been no deaths from Covid-19 in September or October in Chiswick and only one in August. Most of the 35 deaths there have been in Chiswick caused by the coronavirus occurred in March – May.
The monthly update on the number of deaths has not yet been published for December 2020 at time of writing.
