Five people injured, three taken to hospital

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a car hit several pedestrians on Ealing Broadway on Saturday afternoon (27 June).

Five people were injured, three of them taken to hospital, following the incident which happened at around 2.30pm.

Police were called after reports of a car colliding with multiple pedestrians in the busy shopping street. The Metropolitan Police say they believe none have suffered life-threatening or life-changing injuries.

Timir Ahmed Mohamed, 34, of Grange Park, Ealing has been charged with five counts of attempted murder, as well as dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis and criminal damage.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court.

London Ambulance Service treated casualties at the scene.

“We sent a number of resources including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, a volunteer emergency responder crew and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated three patients at the scene and took one of them to a major trauma centre by road as a priority. The other two patients were taken to a local hospital.”

Footage on social media shows paramedics treating people on the road as dozens of shoppers looked on. The Police are asking for any relevant footage to be sent to them and anyone with information to contact them on 101, providing the reference number 4607/27JUN.
