A man previously imprisoned for perverting the course of justice over the dismemberment and disposal of the body of a former Chiswick school pupil has been shot dead.

Janayo Lucima, 21, was killed on Comeragh Road in Hammersmith last Monday (1 April). Police were called at 10.54pm but Lucima was found dead at the scene.

He had served three years and three months in a Young Offenders’ Institution for perverting the course of justice in the case of William ‘Blaise’ Algar’s murder.

Algar, a 53-year-old jazz musician, went missing in December 2019 and was later found dismembered. Members of the gang believed to have been involved in his murder are serving time in prison for killing another, rival drug dealer.

Shortly after Blaise was murdered, 35-year-old Ebrima Cham, was killed in a “frenzied attack” at a flat in Hounslow on 19 December 2019.

At their trial the court heard that Blaise had argued with gang member Emeka Dawuda-Wodu over money, he had threatened to kill Blaise’s cat which subsequently disappeared. Blaise was later stabbed to death and cut up in the bath in his house with a zombie knife with his arms and legs being disposed of on Hounslow Heath.

Lucima and Marc Harding were both sentenced for perverting the course of justice, although there was no evidence they were present during Algar’s murder. Other members of the gang received lengthy prison sentences for their involvement in the murders.
