Nicholas Brandram was under investigation by police
The man suspected of being the ‘Putney pusher’ – the man who pushed a women into the path of a bus on Putney Bridge while he was out running in 2017 – has been found dead at his home in Chiswick.
Nicholas Brandram, 44, a banker working for HSBC, was arrested in June this year on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm.
Police had been trying to identify the man in a video of the incident since the CCTV footage went viral. It showed how close the woman had come to falling under the bus as the driver swerved to miss her. A man is clearly seen shoving her out of his way in an apparently unprovoked action.
Last week, the Metropolitan Police confirmed Nicholas Brandram had been released under investigation. He was found dead in his home on Tuesday evening.
The police said his death was being treated as “unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious”.
