About Mireille Farjon
Mireille is a French national who, for three decades, has split her time between London and the South West of France. Educated at Cambridge University in the 1980s, where she read Modern Languages, she has been accompanied throughout her life by her artistic soul and creative spirit. After many years running an exclusive retreat in France for children to be immersed in the French culture away from the interference of technology and the modern world, Mireille decided to devote all her time to Decorative Arts.
Several years later, after writing a successful book on dried flower arranging, Mireille was accepted at the renowned St Martins Art School, to undertake the formal training that complemented and enhanced her natural gifts. Here she began to appreciate that the minutiae, such as the choice of a handle for a French commode, or the focus on the application of a certain colour in a painting, are what truly allows a piece of art to thrive and excite. Mireille’s view is that what makes every creation beautiful to the eye depends entirely on the sense of creative order, a harmony needed for the successful revival of a long forgotten piece of furniture.
