Flora Mansurian, the sister of a man badly injured in an accident when his motorbike was hit by a car on the morning of Thursday 3 March, would like anyone who witnessed the accident to come forward and make a statement to the police.

Her brother Vahik Mansurian (60) is an experienced rider who was knocked off his bike in Chiswick High Rd at around 9.30am. Police closed the road in both directions while an ambulance was called.

Flora has contacted The Chiswick Calendar to ask for witnesses. She talked about the seriousness of his injuries and how kind people were when the accident happened.

“He was riding a courtesy motorbike when the accident happened” she told us. “He had taken his bike to Honda for a service. They gave him a courtesy bike and he was riding back to his flat in Chiswick.”

The accident happened outside 130 Chiswick High Rd. A man whose name she does not know rang her to say her brother had been injured by a Volvo coming the other way.

“He must have got hold of my phone number either from Vahik, or from his phone. He rang me and said ‘your brother has been injured in an accident’ ”

Vahik was conscious, she thinks, but he does not remember how the accident happened.

“There were lots of people who came to the scene to help. The cafes were busy. A lady who attended my brother, I don’t know who she was, a nurse or a first aider. I just want to thank those people and to know what happened.”

Mr Mansurian’s right leg was completely crushed. He has had two operations on it so far for damage to his hip and femur. His knee was damaged, as was his ankle. He was taken to St Mary’s hospital, where he has been visited by a specialist from the Western Eye hospital as his eyes were also injured. Both eyes are still very swollen ten days later. He was wearing a helmet when the accident happened.

“He was a very dynamic and healthy guy” says Flora, who bought and sold online and repaired motorbikes. To top it all, he is now in isolation because he has Covid.

If anyone did see the accident Flora would be grateful if you would contact the police giving accident number TX/010000335/22. Call Lisa on 0207 230 9956.
