New Chiswick Health Centre “almost ready to open”

NHS side of the health centre to open in within the next couple of weeks

After two years of construction, the new Chiswick Health Centre is almost ready to open its doors to the public.

While there is no set opening date yet, builders on the site told The Chiswick Calendar on Tuesday (14 January) that the NHS section would be open within the next couple of weeks. The residential units will be ready between the end of February and the beginning of March.

According to the NHS, patients who have moved from West4GPs, Chiswick Health Practice & Chiswick Medical Practice will be contacted with details and an exact opening date.

The project, which has been carried out in partnership with the NHS and Hounslow Council, consists of a modern ‘fit for purpose’ health centre, improved public spaces in the surrounding area, and 55 new homes reserved for key workers, with attractive frontage to Fisher’s Lane and space to support local community activities and services.

It is understood that Hounslow Council will become the landlord of the residential units, which will be used generate the funding required to provide this facility.

The centre will provide a broader range of GP services, including community and mental health services. Developers say each floor of the health centre has been designed with these priorities in mind and the addition of outdoor spaces including a courtyard for users and a “generous” roof terrace for staff.

LB Hounslow is experiencing an increase in the demand for health and social care services due to the increase in population and ageing population. The new health centre has been built as a response to that increasing demand.
