New restaurant proposed for Chiswick High Road

The disused premises of Kitchen and Pantry looks set to be turned into a new restaurant.

Council planners have now received an application for the the 1,376 sq ft site to turn it into a restautant called Mali’s. The applicant hopes initially to replace the shopfront glazing, including the installation of opening bi-folding shopfront doors, redecoration of the shopfront with signs and a new awning.

In 2016 the company which ran Kitchen and Pantry went into liquidation but continued to trade until August 2019. Since then, the prime corner site near Waterstones and Marks and Spencer has been vacant.

No further details as to what kind of food the restaurant will serve when it opens is available.

If approved, work on the site is set to commence this month, with building works to be completed by October.

The Chiswick Calendar have attempted to speak to the applicant, Homayoun Fahimipour (who owns the nearby Nikki’s Bakery), but he refused to give any further details on the proposals.

The planning application is: (P/2022/2399).
