Person killed and two others in hospital following stabbing on Askew Road
One person has been confirmed dead and two others have been hospitalised in a stabbing on Askew Road on the border of Chiswick and Shepherd’s Bush this morning.
The London Ambulance Service were called at 8:22 am today to reports of a stabbing. Paramedics were sent to the scene and London’s air ambulance was also dispatched, with ambulance crews arriving in less than five minutes.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:
“We treated three people in total. We took two patients to hospital but sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a patient was pronounced dead at the scene”.
In a nearby Sainsbury’s local people told The Chiswick Calendar young children fled the flat where a woman was stabbed. Reportedly, they were taken in by a cafe owner nearby to keep them safe.
Police closed the road and stopped drivers entering and cordoned off an area that began at Davisville road and included Haydn Park Road.

A local shop owner told The Chiswick Calendar the street is always busy at that time in the morning, especially around the Gail’s and cafes in the area where there was a heavy police presence this morning.
Residents who had come out to see what was going on, who had heard police sirens this morning were shocked. A resident told us the area is “a lovely place to live” with another saying that they usually “feel safe in the area”.
