Winner of the Actress Television award
Phyllis Logan won the Actress Television award in the BAFTA Scotland Awards 2022, which took place on Sunday 20 November. The actress, who lives in Chiswick, won the award for Guilt, which was the biggest winner of the night.
The awards celebrate the best in film, games and television produced over the last year in Scotland.
Guilt tells the story of two brothers who accidentally run over and kill an old man on a dark road on their way back from a wedding. They decide to cover up the crime but as neighbours become suspicious and guilt gets the better of them, their plan to conceal their part in the old man’s death unravels.
Phyllis Logan joined the cast for season two, in which she plays the matriarch of a crime family. Her character, the ruthless Maggie Lynch, is worlds away from the role she is best known for, the amiable housekeeper Mrs Hughes in Downton Abbey.
“I still can’t quite believe it”
Phyllis told The Chiswick Calendar on Tuesday morning: “I still can’t quite believe it. It’s a great honour.”
After receiving her own award she then presented Peter Capaldi the BAFTA Scotland Award for Outstanding Contribution to Film and Television.
Guilt season two is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
