Police seek to contact dog owner over attack on seal

Police are looking to identify witnesses and to speak to the owner of the dog involved in the attack on ‘Freddie’ the seal on Sunday on the riverbank near Hammersmith Bridge.

The seal was taken to a rescue centre for treatment, but was subsequently put down due to the injuries sustained.

Metropolitan Police officers went to the attack location at around 12.40 on Sunday 21 March, and helped in the seal’s rescue, along with officers from the London Fire Brigade.
