Two people arrested and charged with theft after clothing found in alleyway

The police have been targeting shoplifting in Chiswick. On Wednesday (16 July) police from all three Chiswick wards teamed up with plain clothes officers as well as a marked car and cyclists.

They responded to information of two individuals trying to break security tags off clothing in an alleyway off the High Road and swarmed the area finding them as they tried to leave.

They were searched and nearly £2,000 of stolen clothing from a local shop was found in their bags.

Sergeant Gareth O’Donnell, who manages the neighbourhood police team in Chiswick, said:

“Both of the persons were also wanted for other offences. They were arrested and have been charged and remanded for court”.
