“Biggest and boldest yet”

The full programme for this year’s Pub in the Park Chiswick has been announced, which organisers describe as their “biggest and boldest” line-up of music, chefs, and restaurants yet.

On the afternoon of 29 June, Chiswick House Gardens will host Scouting for Girls, Flawless, and Big Little Fish. The evening will see performances by Busted, Toploader, and Modern Love. The more relaxed Sunday afternoon session on 30 June will feature Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, with special guests Damian Lewis, Beatles Dub Club, and Billington and Quinn.

Charity gala evening

The weekend’s events will kick off with a charity gala evening on 28 June, hosted by David and Georgia Tennant, to raise funds for former Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s charity to help homeless people, Multibank. The evening will include performances by De La Soul, Stereo MCs, and The Feeling, with Vernon Kay as DJ and host.

Special guests at the gala will include Arabella Weir, Claudia Winkleman, Alex Jones, Romesh Ranganathan, Lenny Henry, Stephen Mangan, Gaby Roslin, Simon Rimmer, Dr Ranj Singh, José Pizarro, Matt Tebbutt, Mark Wogan, Andrea McLean, and Kate Thornton. Multibank founder Gordon Brown will also make an appearance.

Tickets are priced from £55, with £10 per ticket going to charity. Super Donor tickets are available for £300, including five complimentary dishes, pit access in front of the stage, and entry to an exclusive friends and family celebrity party. £250 from each Super Donor ticket is donated to Multibank.

Kids Go Free on Saturday afternoon

Pub in the Park has also introduced a new feature in Chiswick – a “Kids Go Free” incentive for families for the Saturday afternoon session. As the result of a focus group session with people in Chiswick, including Chiswick School, the afternoon programme now includes a lot of family entertainment, as well as a partnership with Chiswick school to feature some of their bands and performers on the bandstand.

All Child tickets must be booked with an Adult ticket and cannot be booked separately.

“A food festival with great music”

When we spoke to the joint organiser, Chris Hughes, he told us he and chef Tom Kerridge regard Pub in the Park as primarily a food festival, with great music, rather than the other way round.

Notable chefs providing food throughout the weekend include Pub in the Park founder Tom Kerridge, Andi Oliver, Simon Rimmer, Emily Scott, Gennaro Contaldo, Tom and Robert Aikens, Mursal Saiq and Josh Moroney, Big Has, and Jeremy Chan.

Pubs and restaurants hosting pop-ups will include The Hand & Flowers, Kanishka by Atul Kochhar, José Pizarro, The Orange, The Abbey Inn by Tommy Banks, Cue Point, Café Murano, Ginger Wings, and Temper.
