There are severe delays this morning on the M4 approach to London due to an earlier accident involving several vehicles.
National Highways say there are severe delays of 90 minutes on the M4 eastbound into London and six miles of congestion between J4 Airport Interchange (Uxbridge, Heathrow Airport T2 & 3; A408) and J2 Brentford Interchange (North Circular Road, A406; South Circular Road, A205; Chiswick, A315).
The accident happened at approximately 08.15. Two vans and a car were reportedly involved in the crash.
The Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, National Highways Traffic Officers and vehicle recovery operators attended the scene which required one lane to be closed.
National Highways say the incident was cleared at 09.20 and both lanes were re-opened at that time.
‘If this is on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey’.
