About Shelley Thomas
Shelley is a jeweller working in the artist’s community at the London Museum of Water and Steam by Kew Bridge. Her work is raw yet sparkly as she loves to work with translucent facetted gem stones with heavy rough gold and silver. Alongside her bespoke work, she runs ‘Make a piece of Silver Jewellery in a day’ workshops. Shelley originally started this as a way for couples to make their own wedding bands but she has now the opened the doors to anyone who would like a jewellry experience day; she still only takes 2 people at a time as she believes this makes for a more intense and exciting day.
“A few weeks ago, I had two 40 something siblings bring all their late mother’s jewellery in and we spent the day ‘upcycling’ and they went home smiling with jewellery that they want to wear. These days are often full of laughter, tears and goosebumps” – Shelley Thomas
Much of her work is commissioned, so get in touch using the details below if you would be interested in Shelley making or adapting something for you.
