The most photogenic place in west London?

For the Platinum Jubilee on Sunday 5 June the Strand on the Green Association organised a party and ran photography, art, poetry and limerick competitions. The winners were announced and their work read out by one of our greatest actors, Dame Eileen Atkins, who happens to live on Strand on the Green.

Here are the winning photographs in the Photography competition adult category.

Photography competition (adult)

Winner

The winner of the photography competition was Sue Coggins with her picture of the RNLI lifeboat crew stopping off to buy an ice-cream during the first lockdown of the Covid pandemic.

The entries were judged by Alan McBride and Aubrey Crawley, who said:

“For me, photography is about capturing those extraordinary and unforgettable moments, and our winner has done exactly that. I love everything about this picture and how it perfectly captures the community, the uniqueness and beauty of Strand on the Green.”

Runner up was Jennifer Griffiths, with these two photographs.
