Tarantella closes in Chiswick
Tarantella on Elliott Road
Owners say they had outgrown the space
Tarantella, the Italian restaurant in Elliott Road in Chiswick, has closed.
Luciana Palmieri and her husband Mark Smith, who took over the restaurant three years ago, told The Chiswick Calendar the space had become too small for them. Their home made food, especially Luciana’s signature Tiramisu, was very popular.
So much so that Captain America, the actor Anthony Mackie, popped in to eat there last year.

Luciana and Mark; home cooked food from Puglia
They have opened a new restaurant in Richmond. Sudi, on Kew Road opposite Kew Gardens, is olive themed, inspired by the food and traditions of Puglia in southern Italy where Luciana is from. Sudi celebrates olives throughout, evidenced by the cocktails, the olive-shaped sharing dessert – a pistachio mousse with a chocolate ‘stone’ – and the décor.
Diners invited to ‘Press for Olive Oil’ to summon an olive oil sommelier.
Luciana and Mark serve fresh Italian dishes made to Luciana’s family recipes, making their own pasta and bread fresh every day. They will be missed.
